God Bless America

America, “The land of the free” line from the American National anthem. America has a lot to offer to someone travelling there because the influence of so many cultures makes it a very interesting place. Immigrants from all over the world have settled in the United States of America. A main part of any culture is food. Some of the most popular types of food that we enjoy originated in America. These include Fried chicken, BBQ, Macaroni and cheese, Apple pie, Sweet Potatoes, Turkey even the Fortune cookie.

Since America has 50 states there are many things to do that makes each state unique. I am from Idaho in the Pacific North West region. Idaho is an outdoor enthusiast’s wonderland. Summers are great because the days are long so it gives you much more time to have fun and enjoy yourself. Activities include water sports in the many lakes and reservoirs, rock climbing, motorcycle riding in the mountain trails, horse-back riding and camping. Idaho also offers extremely fun winter activities including skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, snowmobiling and sledding.

Although many things are now outsourced to other countries to be manufactured, there are some iconic brands that are proudly made in America. Examples include Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Wilson sports brand American footballs, Ford automobiles, Whirlpool appliances and Gibson guitars.

There were also many inventions that originated in the U.S.A. Benjamin franklin discovered electricity and also Bifocal eyeglasses. Thomas Edison invented the phonograph and the light bulb. Alexander Bell was the inventor of the telephone.

Many of the technologies and comforts of life that we enjoy today are a result of American influence. “God Bless America” is not just a slogan, but actual principles upon which the country was founded.
